I thought of you guys and Julia and Nitya's epic wedding.

the most epic of all epic internet weddings, I might dare say.

~

ok I know I say this a lot, but I MISS THIS SHOW. I just saw pics of JoseS, MattH, Akram and Green-with-an-E looking very...how shall I put it...um, good.

not that they can ever look bad, apparently. but it just sort of made me realize I really really REALLY think they (+Karen, epicduh) are the best (core) Bway ensemble cast at the moment.*

*but not really: I'm hella clueless and biased, but all I know is that I can't even recognize half the names in ITH anymore, and so in MY little world they totally are.

THE POINT IS I MISS THEM- er...I mean, THE SHOW.

(plus I need a hair-check on my fave bouncyful head of hair. what? I take other people's hair very seriously.)

It's because of you, mami, that I hugged GeorgeAkram to smell his hair at stage door and nearly squealed then started crying. You bad influence.
It was so spicyyy.

I miss WSS too... I'm suffering from withdrawal! I have such a crush on Josa, though, it's not even funny. She's like a pretty princess, and hugged me because I was crying with my grandma at stage door because of her epic performance, but I couldn't talk to her. Neutral She said, "I WAS ONLY ACTING, NO CRYING. IT MAKES ME SO SAD." So. That's been hanging over my head.

I influence nothing - you hugged GeorgeAkram because he's GeorgeAkram. Not many escape the awesome power of GeorgeAkram, and no one can leave unanswered the call of a GeorgeAkram Hug.

I influence nothing, I say.

Capitalization on 'hug' completely necessary.

Just like Glasses and Hair.

Alas, I stand corrected. May Raul Esparza pardon my mistake.

Copy/pasted from elsewhere:

Caught the matinee today. I LOVED Jeremy as Tony. I had little to no idea of what to expect, and I was blown away. His Tony is young (which is something I feel the other two have lacked, even though Matt H. comes across younger than Matt C. did) and fun to watch, and his dramatic scenes are incredible. He had incredible chemistry with Haley as well.

I've seen Haley as Maria a couple of times and always enjoyed her, but I was particularly surprised by her today (I would dare to state unpopular opinion #1 here and say I think she is as good, if not better than Josefina). Her voice is gorgeous and her Maria is charming and sweet. Like I said, her chemistry with Jeremy was excellent. They were the perfect Tony and Maria pair. The final scene was INTENSE. When she said "I can kill now..." she did this little laugh that was so disturbing but completely brilliant and it just worked.

Unpopular opinion #2... I love Natalie Cortez as Anita. I wish they would put the original choreography back in for her because she could handle it. Her dancing is amazing. Her voice worries me a little, only because it can sound really strained. Her acting is absolutely brilliant. she plays Anita very different from Karen but it works. Her Anita comes across more hopeful. During the scene at Doc's in Act 2, when she says "Bernardo was right..." it seems to be a surprise to her, as though she was starting to believe things could be different and was being let down (where with Karen it can seem more of an "I knew it!"). She plays that whole scene a lot more vulnerable than Karen does. On a completely differnet note, a really funny moment that she had was during the scene before "One Hand, One Heart." Instead of leaving in a fuss after she told Maria off, she looked Jeremy over, gave this big grin, and winked at him before she walked off. It was really cute.

Another favorite of mine is Michael Rosen as Chino. His Chino is so drastically different from the others I've seen but his portrayal has been the only one that's completely worked for me. He takes a small role and makes it stand out. He is absolutely heartbreaking in his act 2 scenes. Everyone else was pretty great, business as usual.
